Our Story
Silver Light Seniors Association (SLSA) was founded in 2004 with the mission to support senior immigrants, particularly those of Chinese descent, in navigating their new lives in the United States. Over the past two decades, we have provided essential services to help seniors understand American culture, access social benefits, receive healthcare, and engage in meaningful community activities. We are proud to currently serve over 1,000 senior members across 12 branches, further extending our reach and impact in the community.
From humble beginnings, Silver Light has grown into a trusted resource for seniors, offering support and fostering a sense of belonging within our vibrant community. We continue to expand and enhance our services, ensuring that seniors in various locations can access the care and engagement they need.
Our Mission
At Silver Light Seniors Association, our mission is to empower seniors by providing essential social services, healthcare support, and opportunities for social engagement. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for seniors by offering assistance with benefit programs, health education, and a variety of activities that foster community connection and personal well-being. Through our comprehensive approach, we aim to reduce isolation and ensure that seniors can live active, fulfilling lives, enriched by their participation in our programs and the broader community.
Our Vision
We envision a community where seniors and all Chinese-speaking individuals in Northern Virginia have access to the resources, support, and connections they need to thrive. Our goal is to create an inclusive environment that serves not only seniors but all members of the Chinese-speaking community, addressing their unique cultural, social, and healthcare needs. Through this broader vision, we aim to strengthen the entire community by providing a platform for growth, engagement, and mutual support.
